What it does

Bolts directly to your Retrax XR cover’s T-slot rails using the included bedrail brackets, which mount directly to the cover’s rails without drilling any holes. It turns your Ram 1500 bed into a fully modular cargo platform: carry a rooftop tent, awning, recovery gear, fuel, and water on top, while keeping the bed underneath locked and weather-sealed. Works as a Dodge Ram ladder rack, a cargo rack for lumber and conduit, or a no-nonsense overland basecamp — built from solid T-slot aluminum, not flimsy sheet metal.

This is not a universal bracket forced to fit. The XTR1 Retrax XR Build ships pre-configured for the Retrax XR’s integrated T-slot rail system — the bedrail brackets connect your uprights straight to the cover, so the rack and the tonneau work as one. Frequently Asked Questions

Will this rack work with a Softopper, FasTop, or Bestop on my Ram?

No. This rack is designed to mount to your Retrax XR tonneau cover’s T-slot rails. If you run a canvas-style soft topper, look at our XTR1 Soft Topper Bed Rack or XTR3 Soft Topper Bed Rack instead.

Does this require drilling into my Ram?

No. The rack mounts directly to the Retrax XR cover’s T-slot rails using the included bedrail brackets. No permanent modifications to your truck or cover, and no compromising your factory finish.

How do I know if I need the Straight Bed or Tapered Bed version?

Dodge Ram trucks come with either a straight or tapered bed, depending on the model year and factory configuration. This listing is for the straight bed. To find out, measure from the inside edge of the bed rail, measure both the front width and rear width of your bed. If the measurements are different, you have a tapered bed. If they are the same, you have a straight bed.
