The XTR3 Pre-configured Bed Rack is our best-selling aluminum extrusion rack for the Dodge Ram 2500/3500 HD. Built with six uprights—one at each corner and one in the center of each side rail—the XTR3 gives Ram 2500/3500 HD owners a strong, modular, open-sided rack system with extra load-bearing capacity for overland travel, work use, daily hauling, and weekend gear.

Unlike fixed sheet-metal racks, the XTR3 is built from T-slot aluminum extrusion so your setup can change as your truck build evolves. Mount rooftop tent accessories, recovery boards, awnings, water storage, fuel cans, bikes, kayaks, ladders, conduit, lumber, and jobsite gear without locking your truck into one permanent layout. Comes in mid-height and cab-height options, so you get the exact fit for your needs.

What it does

Attaches directly to the factory bed rails using the included bedrail brackets, which mount directly to the truck’s bed rails without drilling any holes. It turns your Ram 2500/3500 HD bed into a fully modular cargo platform: carry a rooftop tent, awning, recovery gear, fuel, and water on top, while keeping the bed underneath free for daily use. Works as a Dodge Ram ladder rack, a cargo rack for lumber and conduit, or a no-nonsense overland basecamp — built from solid T-slot aluminum, not flimsy sheet metal.

Built for the Ram 2500/3500 HD

The XTR3 Pre-configured is engineered to bolt directly to the Ram 2500/3500 HD’s factory bed rails. It comes in mid-height and cab-height options so you get the exact fit for your needs. The uprights are pre-cut and pre-drilled for a clean, flush mount. It’s not a universal bracket forced to fit — it’s purpose-built for the geometry and rail spacing of the HD trucks.

The center upright on each side rail gives you a solid middle point for spanning long items like lumber or conduit, and an extra anchor point for heavier gear. Its open design provides excellent side access, outstanding accessory compatibility, and a clean layout that’s equally at home on work trucks, overland builds, and daily drivers. It comes with 6 uprights (one in each corner + one center upright on each side rail), 2 side braces, 2 top crossbars, and 2 top support braces. What is the difference between the XTR1 and the XTR3?

The XTR3 features six uprights instead of four — one in each corner plus one center upright on each side rail. This gives the XTR3 extra load-bearing capacity, additional mounting points for accessories, and a solid middle anchor for spanning longer items like lumber or conduit. Both are built from solid T-slot aluminum and bolt directly to your bed rails.

How do I know if I need the Straight Bed or Tapered Bed version?

Dodge Ram trucks come with either a straight or tapered bed, depending on the model year and factory configuration. This listing is for the straight bed. To find out, measure from the inside edge of the bed rail, measure both the front width and rear width of your bed. If the measurements are different, you have a tapered bed. If they are the same, you have a straight bed.

Does this require drilling into my Ram?

No. The rack mounts directly to the factory bed rails using the included bedrail brackets. No permanent modifications, no drilling, and no compromising your factory finish.

Will this rack work with a Softopper, FasTop, or Bestop on my Ram?

No. The XTR3 Pre-configured is designed to bolt to your bed rails, not a topper cover. If you run a canvas-style soft topper, look at our XTR1 Soft Topper Bed Rack or XTR3 Soft Topper Bed Rack instead.

Will this rack work with a Retrax XR tonneau cover on my Ram?
